Approved Websites:  

   

Reporting computers are configured to allow employees limited access to internet websites. Approved websites are listed under the "Links" header.  

   

When accessing an approved website you may encounter a pop-up box asking for a password. This pop-up is caused by the website attempting to allow unwanted content through. Simply click the "x" to close the pop-up box. You should be able to access the content on the approved website but will not be able to follow links to other sites or advertisements.  

   


Misuse of computers:  

   

Reporting computers are monitored for misuse. Misuse includes accessing unapproved websites, adding software, changing settings and circumventing security settings.  

   

Help Desk Guides cannot make changes to computer settings without agency permission but conduct a diagnosis each time an employees is assisted.  

   


Computer updates:  

   

Reporting computers are routinely updated and checked. If the computer seems to be working "on it's own" don't worry. A help desk guide may be checking and/or updating the computer.  

   

Typically help desk guides will call the work location in advance of taking over a computer. If you will need the computer, please tell the guide and updates will be scheduled for a later time.
